The Giza Piú  yarns are made from “Giza 86” cotton grown in the Nile Delta, which is uniquely hand-harvested and rowsted, thus protecting special quality cotton fibers from damage. This raw material made Egyptian cotton famous. Today, every cotton fabric that contains cotton grown in Egypt is labeled Egyptian cotton, even though this special raw material accounts for only a few percent of the country’s cotton production. The yarns of Borgo de Pazzi Giza Piú are truly made from the most unique Egyptian cotton, which is immediately recognizable for its unmistakable feel and comfort of wearing. The yarns of Borgo de Pazzi Giza Piú are naturally shiny, they do not need to be artificially polished or mercerized. The yarn thus retains its natural softness and warmth and is much more elastic than the average cotton yarn. We can knit and crochet clothes with the same wonderful shine as from mercerized cotton yarn, but the result will be much lighter, softer and warmer.
